TAKE A STROLL. My sister in-law Katie and I took a ramble around Carrigfoyle quarry in Barntown, County Wexford. It is a lake surrounded by forest with beautiful views. There is a loop walk that will take you about 30 mins. They have wooden picnic benches and a food truck run by 'La Cuisine' who are renowned in Wexford for their tasty home cooked food. There are also public toilets. The facilities are fairly new and the locals have been doing a great job maintaining the area. I would suggest wearing a pair of summer culottes teamed with a breathable cotton tee-shirt along with a pair of soft-sole saltwater sandals. Funky earrings optional!

Travelling to Europe this summer?

Some tips and tricks to make this summers markets easier to navigate.

CLOCK 
Check the time of the market you're aiming for. Arrive as early as you can to get the best choice of pieces. It's also less crowded in the morning and less hot.

CREW 
I like to go alone as I'm able to go at my own pace. However, it is handy to bring a companion to act as a mule, like your Dad! I find treats and drinks keep your pal willing and interested. 

CHECK 
Take a little extra time to check damage and labels. It's a wasted purchase if you find a stain in a dress or a rip in a leather bag after you've purchased. Remember things can be fixed so you need to judge whats worth going the extra mile for.

CHARM
I don't like to do a hard haggle. These stall holders are dedicated and deserve to be paid fair prices. Instead I like to make them smile and have a laugh. The rest will fall into place. Usually if you're buying a few things from the same person they will do you a deal.
